Today we mourn and honor memories of men and women who fought and died so that we might live.
They ate nothing at the battlefield that we might be filled today.
We salute the class of 1967-70 who were barefooted and without guns, hungry and dying yet they chased a well-equipped military vandals of the Nigerian soldiers who had the support of the world and were equipped by the British and American governments.
They held on for three years to save our generation.
The world conspired to wipe out our race but for their sacrifice, we are alive today to continue where they stopped.
They thought of you and me and gave their lives, they hungered and suffered but were satisfied at our thought.
Their bravery is written and engraved on our hearts and we can't stop celebrating them.
